Honey-moon is over with a CRASH!

So what can I say; been a season ticket holder for several years at Anfield and for the best part of the last 20-odd years thought life was ok; not great as that involves finishing 1st in the league but ok-ish which mean 2nd - 7th.
Last few years under Rafa brought the good, the bad and the ugly; from turning an average squad in 2004 in to European Champions to pretty much this Summer which seen 7th in the league and politics off the field dictate the future of Rafa and us the fans plus the club.
Rafa was certainly not shy and at every opportunity would snipe at a certain man up the M56 and even the press when given the chance; this all made the fans like him more but ultimately the media had the last laugh as their suggestions that Liverpool needed an English Manager who likes 4-4-2 and man-marking would be the saviour of the Kop.
This pre-season has been nothing short of a drama at Anfield with Fernando and Stevie going, then stay, then going again and etc etc; this being echoed by the fate of Rafa, the fate of Javier Mascherano and the owners who all joined in on the unstable merri-go-round which is Anfield. Ultimately, one thing I can confirm which isn't the sale is the appointment of Roy. Roy, English Manager who plays 4-4-2 and shys away from zonal marking - where could this go wrong!?!?!
Well, other than a few UEFA cup games or under its new name of Superstar Diamond The Best Ever Europa League and a draw with Arsenal we have seen little of Liverpool which means the last night was an excitgin time for all us Reds, well until 8pm and it kicked off. Seeing a 4-4-2 away at Manchester City is concerning; seeing a centre back play left back is also concerning and finally seeing City's star-studded line-up of quality but overpriced Villa players was concerning.
Anyway 3-goals later, I felt maybe it was the cold and the rain had affected the lads but in my head I know our first big challenge has shown Roy's 4-4-2 may not work every time, zonal marking is good on corners and LBs make good LBs - when we win I will talk about the game a bit more!
