Liverpool Owners and Board at War - Official
October 5th 2010 23:11
Tonight on the official website Liverpool Football Club released the following statement regarding the current status of the football club - make of it what you will:
Liverpool Football Club tonight issued the following press statement:
The Board of Directors have received two excellent financial offers to buy the Club that would repay all its long-term debt. A Board meeting was called today to review these bids and approve a sale. Shortly prior to the meeting, the owners - Tom Hicks and George Gillett - sought to remove Managing Director Christian Purslow and Commercial Director Ian Ayre from the Board, seeking to replace them with Mack Hicks and Lori Kay McCutcheon.
This matter is now subject to legal review and a further announcement will be made in due course.
Meanwhile Martin Broughton, Christian Purslow and Ian Ayre continue to explore every possible route to achieving a sale of the Club at the earliest opportunity.

What does this mean for us fans; Tom and George know RBS will not refinance tomorrow and they also know the Board in its current structure will vito any attempt of them refinancing or fleecing the club with more debt. In a last ditch attempt to rescue their position as owners they have tried to re-structure the board with allies who will block the take-over - EPIC FAIL comes to mind. Tonight Liverpool Football Club is in disarray; fans in open rebellion, players fuming; now the Board refusing to back the owner.
Tom and George - its time to go! It seems Purslow, Ayres and Broughton may of not been the enemy ultimately.
More to follow........

My Liverpool Story
A Coup is happening! This can only be paraphrased with 'its unbelievable Jeff' - Liverpool Football Club is in Civil War; let's hope Tom Hicks doesn't still have Bush's number or we may be seeing F-18 and Abrams Tanks trying to liberate Anfield from the Scouse Insurgence. I am hoping to become the Scouse Information Minister in this conflict.
