The Italian Job

OK, so let’s get this straight. I want to write humorous reports on Liverpool’s games. But, unfortunately we have a clown in charge called Roy Hodgson. So until he goes, all my reports will be Anti-Hodgson and maybe a little serious!!!
I know our standards seem a little lower these days - who’d have thought 7th last season would be looking so good now!!?? But come on Roy, you don’t come out and boast about a 0-0 draw against Napoli!! Perhaps you've been drinking with your good friend Taggart again!!?
Now when Rafa or even Houllier went to the likes of Inter Milan, Barcelona, Real Madrid etc in the Champions League – they were allowed to boast about a good result! But Roy we are in a second rate European League that even the fans don’t seem bothered about. More to the point Napoli are not world class and we still only beat them due to clearing one off the line.
Just so I do mention the game slightly, a bore draw in everyone’s eyes (bar you know who) we did get some positives. Jay Spearing had a great game and was my Man of The Match – not Christian Poulsen!! God knows where I read that, but god come on – how?? Anyway, back to positives. Yet again Martin Kelly put in another good shift and Jonjo Shelvey looks a decent player too.
Chance wise, it was pretty much a drought. Our best chance fell to Ryan Babel, who to be fair was again played out wide when this was a perfect chance to play upfront. However this didn’t excuse the chance he missed - which even Poulsen may have buried!! I’m sorry Ryan, but how many chances do you want in a Liverpool shirt? You talk the talk, but you don’t walk the walk – well maybe once a season if we’re lucky! What happened the player we bought?!
Blackburn are next, I want goals, a win and to be impressed Roy……….
